I’ve been known as the “artsy” one my whole life, but dreamed of being a scientist...yellow suit, working for the CDC. Years later, I’m at UW-Eau Claire – 2 years of calculus, biology and chemistry later, and I felt like something was missing. I changed my major to Graphic Design in order take a limited-seat sculpture class and the rest is history. I found my true passion is creating things...making the random and odd beautiful and balanced. I finished my Fine Arts degree at UW-Milwaukee in 2002. Since then, I’ve been designing and creating, which eventually led to opening my very own agency, en mode design, in late 2007. I truly value family and friends, coffee shop walks, finding new creative projects around my home, and, if the weather is right, paddle boarding over lunch.

As a young boy I always dreamed of growing up and becoming a graphic designer. Ok that’s not true, I wanted to be an Architect. But after a few classes I quickly learned that my talents were much better suited for design. And after being in the field for over 15 years, I couldn’t be happier. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Emphasis in Graphic Design back in 2006, and joined team en mode in 2013. I love working directly with my clients from the start of a project to completion. My favorite thing to work on is brochure/layout design, but I also enjoy challenging photo retouch requests. My time outside of work is split between spending time with my wife and two crazy/amazing kids and training for and racing road bikes. I have also been known for taking on overly ambitious home remodeling projects.

As a designer at en mode, I have strengthened my illustration abilities and become the go-to for creative icons and infographic layouts. Always an avid doodler, I spend a good part of my time sketching out ideas and transitioning them into finished works on the computer. As a youth, I would spend time building silly pictures in Word (gasp!). Though Word wasn’t a design software, it helped me realize that creating “computer art" was something I was passionate about. A bit of research and a few years later, I enrolled in the University of Stevens Point, from which, I received a BFA degree with an emphasis of graphic design. When not at work, you can find me strolling through nature, doodling, playing softball, going on adventures with my boyfriend and daydreaming about the day I will become a dog owner.

Hi everyone! Here’s a glance into my world: While I love my career as a designer at en mode, I also have a few other self-proclaimed titles: music festival wanderer, Talking Heads enthusiast, and animal whisperer. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design & Digital Studio and have been part of en mode’s team ever since (6 years now!). I live in the vibrant city of Milwaukee with my animated, drumming boyfriend Jason and adorable pitbull Rallo. I love all things outdoors, but never underestimate a relaxing night in sipping red wine and watching documentaries. Coming from a family of teachers, I always knew I wanted to break the mold – and graphic design was definitely the right choice for me. Working with clients and fueling my creativity every day is fun, challenging, educational, and rewarding!  

Carol started at en mode design in 2010 as the accounts specialist. In her free time, you can find Carol sneaking off to add her arts and crafts to etsy, weekend road tripping with her handsome husband and enjoying spoiling her 3 granddaughters and grandson.
